Thank you to everyone to sponsored, supported, attended and volunteered to make Spirit and Splendor an incredible success. With your support, our seventh annual event raised more than $250,000! The Jennings staff is in awe with gratitude for the support of our mission.

Jennings President and CEO Allison Q. Salopeck was energized by the success. “The generosity shown to us is inspiring,” she said. “I am once again humbled by the support for our mission, the excitement for innovation and the outpouring of fellowship for our ministry.”

Jennings is grateful to the event sponsors who kicked off the fundraising, particularly Dworken & Bernstein, Co., L.P.A. (Title Sponsor) and The Sanson Company (Event Sponsor) for their leadership gifts. Ms. Salopeck thanked the guests at the event, “We deeply appreciate your financial support, the blessing of you being here with us and the support  we feel every day as we engage in the ministry of caring and assisting the individuals we serve. Thank you also to residents, colleagues, family and friends for your support throughout the year in many ways and for celebrating with us.”

Guests enjoyed the historic Public Auditorium, with live music provided by Renegade Gentleman and a delicious meal prepared by Executive Caterers. In addition to hundreds of random raffles and silent auction items, the signature items were a hit. Winners walked away with a vacation for two, a booze wagon and a cooler of wine!  Once again the live auction stole the show, and we are humbled by the generosity raised by our “Fund The Mission” during the live auction. Our goal was to raise $24,000 to match a challenge grant from Fred A Lennon Charitable Trust to install fall protection flooring in our nursing home suites.  Thanks to the generosity of guests, we surpassed that goal and raised $25,700!

The generosity didn’t stop there. We had a surprise announcement from Mr. Pat Perotti of Dworken & Bernstein, Co., L.P.A. He presented a check for $100,000 from a cy pres distribution to help fund our mission. In his speech, Mr. Perotti noted how impressed he was with the demonstration of fall protection flooring, noting that it can help “prevent people from being badly injured, and that is key for somebody who is in a nursing home.”

Check out the video below, where we dropped an egg on the fall protection flooring at the event. The egg bounces without breaking until it hits the standard floor, where it does break.

Ms. Salopeck reflected on the inspiration of residents, faith and mission. She closed by saying that she hoped the story would help guests to “understand the environment that you help to foster for us to serve others. The way we too have been inspired to grow, to innovate and to provide compassionate care for people who trust Jennings with their lives.”

Thank you Left of Center Photography for capturing some wonderful moments for us. As one guest commented: “We go to many fundraising events and this was absolutely one of the best we’ve attended!”
